Electronic Schematic Capture & Multi-Layer PCB Design
This repository serves as a portfolio and archive for my Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs developed using KiCad. It includes everything from initial schematic capture to 3D modeling and production-ready manufacturing files.
🎯 Engineering Objectives
- Schematic Capture: Designing clean, hierarchical schematics with proper electrical rule checks (ERC).
- PCB Layout: High-speed routing, differential pairs, and optimized ground planes.
- Component Management: Creating custom footprints and 3D models for non-standard components.
- Manufacturing Readiness: Generating Gerber files, Drill files, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for fabrication (JLCPCB/PCBWay).
🏗️ Design Workflow
My design process follows industry standards for hardware development:
- Schematic Design: Defining connections and selecting components.
- Footprint Assignment: Linking symbols to physical footprints.
- Board Layout: Defining board edges, placing components, and routing traces.
- Design Rule Check (DRC): Ensuring the board meets manufacturing constraints.
- 3D Visualization: Verifying mechanical fit and component clearances.
