SparkFun Current Sensor - INA228 and SparkFun Current Sensor - INA237 (Qwiic)
The SparkFun Current Sensor - INA228/INA237 (Qwiic) are high-precision, inline power measurement breakouts built around the INA228 from Texas Instruments. Wire your load's VBUS, IN+, and IN- to the onboard 3.5mm screw terminal, and the INA228 delivers calibrated current, bus voltage, and power readings over I2C — no external math required. A 15 mΩ shunt resistor comes pre-populated, and configurable I2C address jumpers (A0, A1) let you run up to four sensors on a single bus.
Designed for our Qwiic ecosystem, this 1" × 1" board plugs straight into any Qwiic-enabled microcontroller. An ALERT pin is broken out on the PTH header alongside GND, 3V3, SDA, and SCL for interrupt-driven workflows or non-Qwiic setups. Whether you are profiling battery discharge curves, monitoring solar panel output, or adding overcurrent protection to a robot, the INA228 gives you 20-bit measurement resolution in a compact, breadboard-friendly package. The INA237 offers very similar performance figures with a 16-bit measurement resolution.
