This repository contains my first-ever PCB design(done way back in second semester), created using KiCad 🎉
The project is a 230V AC to 12V DC rectifier circuit with a built-in filtering stage, designed to convert mains AC into a smooth DC output suitable for low-voltage electronics.
⚠️ Warning: This project involves 230V AC mains voltage. Handle with extreme care. Do not build or test this circuit unless you are familiar with proper high-voltage safety practices.
The circuit performs the following functions:
| Component | Quantity / Specification | Function / Description |
|---|---|---|
| Step-down Transformer | 230V AC → 12V AC | Converts mains AC to 12V AC |
| Diodes | 4× 1N4001 | Configured as a full-bridge rectifier |
| Capacitors | 2× Filtering Capacitors | Smooths and filters rectified DC |
| Resistor | 1× Current Limiter | Limits current for indicator LED |
| LED | 1× Output Indicator 💡 | Indicates DC output status |
You can view the schematic and PCB design directly in your browser without installing KiCad:
